Innovation Is the Key Forward
Since 2002, Oriental Paper has grown to be a successful paper supplier and paper product company with an international clientele. In this issue of Partner Spotlight, Ms Sera, the CEO of Oriental Paper, shares her secret to keeping her company ahead of the rapidly changing landscape of business.
Nice to meet you Ms Sera! Could you tell us about your company and the work you do?
Gladly. Oriental Paper has been in the paper product business for more than two decades. Operating from Hangzhou, China, our company focuses on the supply of premium paper products such as printing paper and packaging boards. As the CEO, my main responsibility is to lead the company in our day-to-day operations, oversee the company’s strategic decisions, and continuously seek out new opportunities for business development.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I’ve been with the company since day one and my work has been a great source of pride and joy for me. Here, I enjoy making new connections with my colleagues, our partners, and our customers every day. I relish the sense of accomplishment that comes with collaborating closely with people to solve problems and achieve common goals.
I also enjoy the creativity and innovation that comes with working in the paper and pulp industry. It's exciting for me to be part of a sector that is constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Moreover, the paper and pulp industry presents many opportunities to contribute to sustainable development as we play a crucial role in meeting the world’s paper and packaging needs sustainably - that’s why working with partners like PaperOne is a rewarding experience.
Is that the reason why Oriental Paper has chosen to work with PaperOne?
It is one of the reasons. Beyond that, we owe much of our business success to our stable partnership with PaperOne, which has been going strong for four years now. In a volatile market, the stability in our partnership is refreshing and reassuring.
Our partnership began when PaperOne regional managers approached us with the proposal to develop new markets with them as a channel partner. The decision to collaborate was an easy one considering PaperOne’s reputation as a premium paper brand. We have learnt over our years of partnership that our shared commitment to excellence enables us to work well together and establish a strong foundation for further collaboration.
How has the partnership with PaperOne been so enduring?
We are always appreciative of the PaperOne team for their sincerity in the partnership and timeliness in delivering what is expected of them. Working closely with the team has shown us firsthand the respect and trust PaperOne has in their partners and customers, and the pride and love they have for their work, all of which are values that Oriental Paper strongly identifies with.
From a business perspective, the impeccable quality of PaperOne products is a key consideration for our continued partnership as it allows us to meet the expectations of our customers. PaperOne’s channel strategy and brand management also provides an additional layer of value to our collaboration.
What PaperOne products do you sell?
We mainly sell PaperOne Pre-Print+, PaperOne Offset, and PaperOne Copy & Laser. Our offices also use PaperOne Digital for all our printing needs. Thus far, we have been satisfied with the excellent print results that we have achieved using PaperOne.
Where do you see the paper and pulp industry headed towards in the future?
Today, the paper and pulp industry is facing significant changes due to advances in technology, environmental regulations, and market demand. We expect to see a heightened emphasis on sustainable business operations and innovative product development. It will be more important than ever for us to maintain a strong awareness of our social responsibility, ensuring that our operations are sustainable while meeting the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
Therefore, businesses like ours need to learn to anticipate changes and be proactive in adapting to the ebb and flow. PaperOne’s consistent emphasis on innovation and sustainability allows us to be adaptable and forward-thinking so that our partnership can thrive in this industry.
